On the 18-19 of September, Kazimieras Simonavičius University (KSU) Rector Prof. Dr. Arūnas Augustinaitis took part in the events of the General Assembly of the Compostela University Group (CGU) that took place In Hungary.
XXIII General Assembly of the Compostela University Group took place in Pecs, Hungary. This year’s Assembly’s topic was “The Changing Roles of Universities in an Interdependent World”. The Assembly focused on the internationalization of universities, the impact of migration, and changes that globalization has brought to academic institutions.
After official sessions the award ceremony took place, where KSU Rector Arūnas Augustinaitis collected the award for the short movie ‘Diversity Fosters Creativity’, created by KSU student Augustė Paulauskaitė. The film features diverse people who answer questions about their dream job. The author revealed that doing the video helped her discovering that people “can be creative differently, each in their own different way”.
The Compostela Group of Universities is a non-profit international association aimed at fostering cooperation and promoting dialogue in all fields related to higher education. An initiative of the University of Santiago de Compostela, the CGU currently has more than 70 members worldwide, who are working together in the belief that diversity is a keyword in the profile of 21st century universities. Kazimieras Simonavičius University became a member of the Compostela Group in 2016.
