Kazimieras Simonavičius University (KSU) and the company Friendly Avia Support invite to the second meeting of the series of talks on aviation industry Aviation in the Making.

The event will take place at 6 PM on the 16th of November at the KSU premises. The guest speaker of the event is well known leader of aviation industry Gediminas Žiemelis. The topic of his talk: Is Open European Airspace Really Open? The Benefits for Countries in Having National Carrier. Mr. Žiemelis invites the audience to actively take part and engage into productive conversation.

Gediminas Žiemelis is a world–renowned businessman. He works in the field of Aviation and is the Chairman of the Board at Avia Solutions Group. He also manages several large companies in the aviation, pharmaceutical and real estate industries. In 2016, Mr. Žiemelis was acknowledged for his visionary business management and development skills by the prestigious European Business Award jury comprised of EU leaders in the fields of economics, education, business and politics.

On the 18-19 of September, Kazimieras Simonavičius University (KSU) Rector Prof. Dr. Arūnas Augustinaitis took part in the events of the General Assembly of the Compostela University Group (CGU) that took place In Hungary.

XXIII General Assembly of the Compostela University Group took place in Pecs, Hungary. This year’s Assembly’s topic was “The Changing Roles of Universities in an Interdependent World”. The Assembly focused on the internationalization of universities, the impact of migration, and changes that globalization has brought to academic institutions.

After official sessions the award ceremony took place, where KSU Rector Arūnas Augustinaitis collected the award for the short movie ‘Diversity Fosters Creativity’, created by KSU student Augustė Paulauskaitė. The film features diverse people who answer  questions about their dream job. The author revealed that doing the video helped her discovering that people “can be creative differently, each in their own different way”.

The Compostela Group of Universities is a non-profit international association aimed at fostering cooperation and promoting dialogue in all fields related to higher education. An initiative of the University of Santiago de Compostela, the CGU currently has more than 70 members worldwide, who are working together in the belief that diversity is a keyword in the profile of 21st century universities. Kazimieras Simonavičius University became a member of the Compostela Group in 2016.

On the 31st of October, 2017 group of international experts visits KSU to evaluate the Integrated Law Study Programme. The visit is organized by the Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education of Lithuania.

Kazimieras Simonavičius university (KSU) study programmes are regularly evaluated on national and international levels. Law is the first programme of the University established in 2003 and it is being evaluated internationally for the second time.

International group of experts evaluates the programme according to the  International Assessment of Law Study Programmes plan created by the Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education. Experts review the Self-evaluation Report prepared by the self-evaluation group before arriving to the University. At the University they meet with academic community, lecturers, students, administration, social partners taking part in the programme. Group of exerts also examine the material study and work environment.
