Krešimir Žažar, PhD, has been employed since 2008 at the Department of Sociology at the “Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences” of the “University of Zagreb”, where he currently holds the position of associate professor. His narrow scientific interests are focused on the areas of general sociology, epistemology of the social sciences, social and sociological theories, social dynamics, as well as the sociology of regional and local) development. So far, he has co-published three books and around 20 articles. He presented the papers at approximately 30 conferences. He was the secretary of the “Croatian Sociological Society” (2011–2013). Since 2019, he has been a member of the steering committee of the organization “International Social Theory Consortium”, and in the same year, he became a member of the board of the “European Sociological Association” research network for social theory. In 2021, he became a senior research fellow at the “Next Society Institute” of the “Kazimieras Simonavicius University” in Vilnius (Lithuania). Alongside this, in the same year, he was elected as a member of the Executive Committee of the European Sociological Association for a three-year mandate.
