This summer from July 19th until 29th Turiba University in Riga will host NORDPLUS Intensive Course „Security and Sustainability” 2022. We invite to apply full time students of all faculties, especially Security and Law programmes.

In recent years security issues has become important also to Baltic and Nordic countries. World is coping such challenges as migration, conflicts based on different cultural backgrounds, cyber-attacks and other new challenges. This leads to fact that there is need for high quality training for young security specialists.

Student will gain knowledge of assessment of security tactics for guarded sites, basics of tactical planning and implementation methods for threat prevention and their legal regulation; comprehensive knowledge of facts, theory and correlations necessary for carrying out work related tasks, personal growth and development, sustainability and social integration. There will be topics of Stress Management in Crisis Situations, Globalization and Intercultural communication, Team-building as well as Sustainability included in the course.

In this Course participants will be bachelor and master level students from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Finland. Lessons and practical seminars will be led by professors from 5 partner Universities as well as invited professionals.

Language of the Course – English, participation in the Course – free of change. Organisers will cover travel, accommodation, catering, study visits’ and free time activity costs. Applications are accepted only from full time college, bachelor and master level students. Students will receive 3 ECTS for the participation in the Course.

For applications, please fill and APPLICATION FORM and send it to international@ksu.lt till 25 May. Only 7 KSU students will be selected to participate in the course, therefore, we recommend not to delay in applying.

This Course is implemented by Turiba University (Latvia) in a cooperation with Kazimieras Simonavičius University (Lithuania), Tallinn University of Technology (Estonia), Laurea University of Applied Sciences (Finland) and Satakunta University of Applied Sciences (Finland). The II International Scientific conference “Problems and Challenges of Contemporary Law in the Context of International Law 2022” will provide an opportunity to critically and creatively address all areas of international law. Applications of innovative methods in solving emerging problems will be presented during the sessions of the event.

The aim of the conference is to promote the public scientific discussion of Lithuanian and world researchers, raising the problems and challenges of modern law in the contexts of international law, commercial, family, criminal and other branches of law.

Participants: Lithuanian and foreign scientists – researchers, lecturers, students, law practitioners, and social partners. The scientific publications of the conference participants will be published in the conference proceedings.

KSU Conference Programme
The KSU community expresses its unconditional and unanimous support for the Ukrainian nation. In the current dire circumstances the KSU announces its readiness to accept 100 students from Ukraine granting them a tuition waiver covering the full price of studies.
The students will be admitted to the KSU study programmes that are currently offered in the English language: Aviation Management and Entrepreneurship and Management (Bachelor studies) and European Union Law (Master studies).
Tuition Waiver Requirements:
  • Tuition Waiver is granted solely to the students of Ukrainian higher education institutions, fleeing from the war in Ukraine and wishing to continue their studies in Lithuania;
  • The students should be able to study in the English language;
  • The applicants have to fill the Application Form *; (*The application form may also be filled out at the KSU, address: Dariaus ir Girėno str. 21, room 203. Upon arrival please contact priemimas@ksu.lt to book a time.)
  • The applicant has to participate in an interview with KSU Admission Committee.
